2nd European Woodfire Conference

Guldagergaard proudly presents the 2nd European Woodfire Conference August 28th -31st 2014

The Conference will be held in and around the small harbour town of Skælskør, which lies 170 kms South-West of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand.

The opening address, reception and some lectures will take place in the theatre of Borreby Castle, demonstrations, workshops and discussion groups will be held at the International Ceramic Research Center, Guldagergaard; while exhibitions of woodfired work will take place all around the town.

The International Art and Design Ceramics Competition, at its first edition, is run by Officine Saffi with the objective of highlighting and promoting the use of ceramics in contemporary art, design and furnishing, providing a privileged viewpoint of the current state of visual and technological innovation in these areas.

OS Project is a multifaceted cultural project, an architectonic envelope that encloses art, workshops and publishing projects, located in central Milan. It includes the Ceramic Arts Gallery – Officine Saffi with the objective of promoting ceramics in their most sophisticated form, namely works of art, by new artists as well as artists of consolidated fame from both Italy and abroad, the workshop OS Lab, used for practical workshops led by important ceramic artists. And the publishing project with the magazine La Ceramica in Italia e nel Mondo, a magazine with an international outlook dedicated to traditional and contemporary ceramics in all their forms and expressions.

34-cica-2014All participants are entitled to present a maximum of two works of art created with ceramic materials, which mustbe original and unique.

Entries createdby non ceramic procedures, works of anindustrial nature or those who have entered in another competitions will not be admitted.

Internationa Triennal of Silicate arts 2014Born from an idea by János Probstner, founder and former director of the International Ceramics Studio, the 1st International Triennial of Silicate Arts was held in 2005 in Kecskemét, Hungary – expanding the tradition of the National Silicate Industrial Triennials of the 1980's into an truly global event.

Organised by the Foundation for Contemporary Ceramic Arts, the 4th International Triennial will again include an international competition, an exhibition and an international ceramics symposium.

Milano: Mostra "MAIOLICA MAKE UP: spolvero di ossidi e smalti nelle opere di Gian Genta"

MAIOLICA MAKE UP - spolevero di ossidi e smalti di Gian Genta dal 18 novembre al 24 dicembre 2013 la Libreria Egea dell'Università Bocconi ospiterà le opere, in ceramica di Albissola, del maestro Gian Genta, già selezionato al Padiglione Italia della Biennale di Venezia 2011.

“MAIOLICA MAKE UP” è l’acuta titolazione della personale del noto ceramista, celebrativa di un’espressione di bellezza che di fatto è firma distintiva di tutta la sua ricca attività artistica.
Nelle sue opere infatti si evince la non decorazione ma l’incontrollabilità degli effetti che ossidi e smalti nelle differenti cotture producono attraverso l’iperbole del processo creativo del fuoco.
