Sibania has been producing porcelain since 1980, gleaning its first rudiments of technology and styling from the so-called Capodimonte artisan tradition. We have attempted to promote continuous innovation based on this tradition, founded on the constant presence of handmade Italian artisan craftsmanship, maintained as an essential point of reference. Thus, we have attempted to unite the great culture of the “artisan shop” as it developed over the centuries, with research on raw materials, to ensure continuous innovation of the product, with constant attention in utilising non-polluting materials that do not contain lead, cadmium or other compounds that are damaging to the health. Following the experience with “Capodimonte” porcelain, starting from the second half of the eighties, we can say that Sibania has been a leading company in the production of porcelain dolls in Italy.

We also introduced many technical and qualitative innovations in this sector in the period between the eighties and nineties, when Sibania produced bisque components with their own exclusive models for the most important artisan laboratories and porcelain doll producers in Italy. In 1998 we began the production of sculpted figurines, primarily portraying children. On one hand, this production took into account the productive, finishing and decorative techniques acquired through the Capodimonte experience and, on the other, introduced new stylistic and technical features. Because of the particular techniques used, which are briefly illustrated in the section dedicated to “Our Work”, we can say that our pieces are practically unique, single pieces.
These figurines of children, which are sometimes called dolls, are representations of the world of infants, which is dense with emotions and produces emotions in those who come into contact with it – and we feel that the purity of a material such as porcelain is absolutely appropriate to artistically represent the purity and innocence of childhood.. Artistic porcelain in the traditional sense is used in these statuettes as a starting point for a more modern and contemporary representation, because the expressions depicted are up to date and contemporary. In Italy, these figurines are collectors’ items, gift items or highly valued bonbonnières: their expressiveness can easily portray a thought, a message for a precious gift, but also a knick-knack, furnishing accessory or other.
