The styling of our collection has no imitation and this adds more
value to our production in a moment when everything is confused
and
copiously reproduced. R.G. is proud of the originality of own
collection and our hand-made production gives an additional touch
of rareness to our goods. Precise, skilled hands mould the soft
clay. Wire and wood tools serve to complete the modelling and
give the final, precious and plastic touches. The artist creates
a unique piece which serves to produce the mould which will be
used to produce porcelain products.
The object modelled in clay
is covered by a plastic cast; when it has hardened, it will become
the original mould. It is then used, with a special injection
technique, to create another model in silicone,
which
will serve as original form for subsequent moulds. RG Porcellane
destroys its plaster moulds when they have been used for 25-35
casts, in order to guarantee an outstanding quality and perfect
reproduction of the original object. A liquid blend of kaolin,
quartz and feldspar is poured into the mould, where the object
is reproduced by absorption. When the mould is opened, the slip
is finished by hand, trimmed, cleaned and prepared for firing.
The product is spray coated with crystalline, which creates, when
fired at 1250°C, the transparency and gloss characteristic of
white porcelain
.
Gilding with gold leaf by hand requires considerable artistic
skill and a profound knowledge of traditional decoration techniques.
The second firing at 750°C gives the precious metal its final
polish.
The last phase of the preparation consists of applying decorative
gems produced by Swarovski, glued on with precision and patience.
The crafts object thus becomes an artistic object, a unique item
for a precious and original collection.
