MACEF of September 2010 Milan Rho (Italy) |

The home, emotion, Italian-ness and internationality: for
46 years these have been the key points of Macef, the Home
Accessories and Décor Show which is already looking forward
to its September 2010 edition (from 9 to 12 September at fieramilano),
when the renewal project in progress for this historic show
will be complete. To reach new markets, Macef will open up
to original product sectors that have become new consumer
opportunities, such as gardening, the outdoors and pets, because
the home is everywhere we feel at ease, in the company of
those we love. Valuable opportunities will come from the mingling
of different cultures brought by the melting pot that, in
Italy too, is being enriched with the traditions of many different
countries; a mix of styles waiting to be discovered, of which
the show aims to be in the vanguard, a forerunner. Macef confirms
its role as a platform for business, at the service of small
enterprises looking for a privileged channel to launch themselves,
for medium enterprises searching for new markets and for big
brands that can find in Macef a great observatory on their
sector. Macef is Italian experience and international creativity:

7th International Symposium in Art
Ceramics - Camaguey (Cuba) |
|
Call for Submissions The City of
Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe (present-day Camagüey)
and the Doña Iris Art Ceramics Shop call for the 7th International
Symposium in Art Ceramics, to be held under the name ´Puerto
Príncipe 2010´ in this City _now listed by UNESCO as a
World Heritage Landmark from
December 1 through 15 of the current year 2010
in joint sponsorship with the Provincial Council for the
Visual Arts, the Ministry of Culture, the Union of Writers
and Artists of Cuba, and the Government of the Province
of Camagüey.
Submission Guidelines This 7th Edition will highlight
the topic Earth-image-science, that is, the interconnection
of the visual image to the expressive media (art photography,
video, documentary), as well as to the sciences (the beneficial
properties of clays for the skin, the therapeutic uses
of clays, descriptions of clay pastes) and the relationship
between visual images and art ceramics. Admission to our
nonprofit Symposium is selective in nature. The artists
will express themselves through the topics and media of
their choice. Yet their artworks will in no way seem to
be downgrading to human dignity. The Hosts also welcome
those gallery owners, theoreticians, promoters and specialists
that wish to attend the Symposium _as long as they expect
but equal treatment with regard to the rest of attendees.....

Enrajolem (El Vendrell - Spain) |
|
The town council of El Vendrell wants
to develop a collective art project about ceramics. This
project began in South America; exactly, it was design
by Cristina del Castillo, who carried it out in Argentina
(2004) and Mexico (2007). We want you to take part of
this project. You must send us ceramic tiles specially
made for this event. So, there will be a collective work
of human contribution, some thoughts and messages through
ceramics. LET'S TILE TOGETHER! Tiles will take part of
a global work that will be on the just inaugurated promenade
of Les Bòbiles (brickfields). Until the second half of
the 20th century, this promenade was plenty of industry
related to ceramics. There was tile industry (pieces for
construction, tiles, lacings, balusters…) and potter industry;
therefore, the name of the promenade is homage to this
activity. So, we want to give the promenade a deep meaning
related to ceramics.
RULES 1. Tiles must be 25 x 25 cm. 2. Tiles must be square
and they must be under 3 cm height. 3. Only the scale
of blues and whites can be used, and the subject will
be free. 4. The signature and the country of the author
must be easy to read in order to be recognised. 5. There
will be no selection; all pieces will be included in the
global work, if they obey the rules. 6. The ended work
will be published on the web of the town council, with
the names of the participants and their nationality. 7.
Tiles can be sent until 30th
April 2010. 8. The town council of El Vendrell
will inaugurate the final work during October
2010.
The artists can send the tiles to: Patronat Municipal
de Serveis Culturals Rambla, 24 43700 El Vendrell (Spain)
